KP-Felted Flower Pen + Pencil Cozies

I cannot think of a better way to start the new school year, the new week, or the day than by writing a note with a pen or pencil wrapped in a sleeve of squishy fibers. I was inspired to design this very quick to knit project by the pens at Walker Farm where I shop for plants every spring. They were topped with plastic flowers.

I envisioned my version in felted knitting. I've included 4 different flower designs. For pencils, there is a hole for the eraser to poke through. As the pencil grows shorter with sharpening, trim the cozy to fit the pencil. For stick pens, I added a flower center.

These make great gifts for kids, teachers, and friends at any time of year. Why not knit your LYS a pen cozy for them to keep near the cash register!
